Hi!
Conducting transparent, secure election is the heart of any true democracy. Being involved in R&D in frontier technologies, i have been closely involved in sensitive ares like elections. I really appreciate your initiative of supporting power of block-chain for online voting. I fully agree that online voting is still far away not due to technological challenges but practical implementation problems. These problems vary country to country. While most of the European countries adopted EVMs long back and now they turned back to the conventional paper ballot due to concerns over tampering . But yeah! online voting is the future. Introducing any major tech at national or global level requires significant efforts and it also takes time. But once these techs are adopted by them, they save a lot of time, money. We know the evolution of voting process. From paper ballot to EVMs. Now, this is the time to embrace new techs in this field.
Specially in India, reliability and trust in existing EVMs has become a very very hot topic after facing defeat by a lot parties in recent National level Elections. Many parties demanding going back to paper ballot system. VVPAT system is made mandatory by SC. So from my point of view, we should look forward and keep exploring the new ways of conducting polls to keep our democracy alive!
