Registering to Vote in Virginia
If you choose to register to vote in person at your Municipal Registrar, there is no deadline for registration. However, if you register by mail or at a voter registration drive, the deadline is the close of business on the 21st day before Election Day.
Qualifications
To be eligible to vote in Maine, you must:
- Be a US citizen
- Have fixed residency in Maine
- Are at least 18 years old by the next General Election
Where and How to Register
Unfortunately, Maine does not offer online voter registration. You may register to vote either by mail or in person.
You must complete the Maine Voter Registration Application and deliver it to one of the following locations:
- Your Municipal Registrar, located at your town hall or city hall
- Your local Bureau of Motor Vehicles office
- Most state and federal service agencies, such as a social services office
- Any voter registration drive
To main in your form, simply mail the completed application to your Municipal Registrar or to the Secretary of State in Augusta at:

If you are registering for the first time, you must provide either your Maine driver’s license or ID card number or the last four digits of your Social Security number.
