Where and How to Register
The state of Connecticut has a fantastic online voter registration portal that is easy to use.
To register online you must have a valid CT driver’s license, permit, or photo ID card, and a signature on file with the DMV. Complete all of the fields on the online application, and after your application is approved you will receive confirmation within three weeks.
If you opt to vote by mail, you must complete the State of Connecticut Mail-In Voter Registration Form, and mail it to your local town hall.
To register in person, you must complete the same State of Connecticut Mail-In Voter Registration Form, and take it to your local town hall or registration office.
You may register to vote on Election Day if you are eligible and are registering to vote for the first time or have moved to a new town. You must provide identification and proof of residency on Election Day, and contact your local Registrar of Voters for Election Day registration locations. The registration locations are separate from the polling places.
