Registering to Vote in Tennessee
In Tennessee you must download a Tennessee voter registration application and submit the application to your local county election commission
- you must be a U.S. citizen, AND
- you must be a resident of Tennessee, AND
- you must be at least 18 years old on/or before the next election, AND
- you must not have been convicted of a felony, or if you have, your voting rights must have been restored.
Where and How to Register
In Tennessee you must download a Tennessee voter registration application from the Tennessee Secretary of State’s website. You must then submit the application to your local county election commission.
In order to participate in an election, a qualified voter must be properly registered no later than thirty days before the election. The election commission office will process any registrations by mail that were postmarked at least thirty days before the election.
They do not have online voter registration or online voting in Tennessee, however they are taking advantage of social media. Use the Hashtag #GoVoteTN when registering to vote to encourage friends and family to go vote.
