Registering to Vote in Washington
Most Washington voters vote by mail To receive your ballot, you must be registered to vote and be sure that your address is correct. If you want to vote in person, contact your county elections department before you complete your voter registration.
In order to vote in Virginia, you must first register and find out which poll to show up at on election day.
Voter registration deadlines vary by how you register and where you are located. The deadline is:
- The Monday 4 weeks before election day, if you are registering by mail or online
- The Monday 1 week before election day to register, if you are registering in person
- Election day itself, if you are on military duty outside of Washington or if you live overseas
Qualifications
- A citizen of the United States
- A legal resident of Washington State
- At least 18 years old on Election Day
- Not disqualified from voting due to a court order
- Not under Department of Corrections supervision for a Washington felony conviction
Where and How to Register
- Online
- You will need a current Washington State driver license or a current Washington State ID card
- Click the “start new registration” button on the MyVote online registration page
- Mail – after filling out the form, mail it to your county elections department
- At Request Voter Registration Forms By Mail” page, you can enter your information and language preference and order up to 1000 forms.
- Print – at the “Print a Voter Registration Form” page, you can access a PDF of a voter registration form in one of 14 language for print. After filling out the form you can mail it to.
- In Person – Contact or go to your county elections department to
- Request a ballot or other voting material
- File for a local office
- Get help after a deadline
- Make a change to your voter registration
