 Registering to Vote in New Jersey

The deadline to register to vote in New Jersey is 21 days prior to the upcoming election. You can check your voter information on the Department of State website.

Qualifications

To be eligible to vote in New Jersey, you must:

• Be a US citizen
• Be a resident of your NJ county for at least 30 days prior to the next election
• Be at least 18 years old by the next election

Where and How to Register

To register to vote in New Jersey, you must submit a completed Voter Registration Application to your local election official.

Alternatively, you can register at your local MVC office when you renew or apply for your drivers license, or at these government agencies:

• Division of Developmental Disabilities
• Armed Forces of the United States Recruitment Offices
• County Welfare Agency
